April and part of May 2013

Since its already May guess I better update on April huh?! The first weekend in April we celebrated Avery's 1st birthday!! We had our family over to our house. Thank goodness we opened gifts first as she really dug into her cake! There are videos of this on our two youtube sites so enjoy those! She got clothes, toys, and books. Rachel is helping us plan her party this year so it just goes to show how grown up she already is. She is so intelligent; she surprises us all the time with her vocabulary. Sometimes we forget how young she is because of her height; she is as tall as our neighbor who is 6! My favorite saying Rachel has right now is "Mommy I bless you'd," instead of "Mommy, I sneezed." How adorable :) We read a book called 'If I were an Owl' that Avery received from Grandpa and Grandma Reeves for her birthday, every night and Rachel has it memorized now so she reads it to us now. Just two nights ago I was reading it to Avery as Rachel was playing with the kids next door still and Avery said "T'wit T'two" just like the book states an Owl says! A few nights before that all 4 of us were reading a pumpkin book and basically a pumpkin is missing and then it has a scary jack-o-lantern face on it and the next page shows a dog jumping in front of it saying, "Boo." Well Avery helped us turn the page and said, "Boo." All of us started laughing as it was so cute and she surprised us all that she knew it! Now she does it every time and looks at us waiting for us to laugh again; so cute!! Mother's Day the family let me sleep in and woke me up for cards, flowers and a candlelit breakfast!! Adam and the girls made me one card, the girls made another at daycare and Adam got me a perfect card from him that sang, "You're still the one." I cried and Rachel was so proud, she immediately came over and hugged me. Then we went to get flowers and out to lunch, after naps we planted the flowers. It was such a beautiful day! I feel like the luckiest Mommy around :) Last night, Rachel and I went to Aunt Heather's graduation from Front Range Community College; we are so proud of her! Rachel gave her a card and flowers and was so excited! More to come... Callas'
