January 2013

Time seems to be getting the best of me lately as I feel I haven't been on here in awhile; then I also try to use the speaker on my phone but have laughed at some posts as I must need to pronounciate more clearly :) Then there is the grammer-less portion of that so it seems all jumbled together but I figured that was better than no update... Anyway, lets see we didn't make it for the new year; we were all sleeping well by then :) Adam's birthday dinner ended up being a success after having to reschedule due to the playoffs (obviously I haven't been keeping up this year), then he had to work late the second time I scheduled it but did make it and everyone stayed to celebrate with him! Rachel and I attempted to make him a flower cake but the cake mold was not cooperating so it wasn't pretty but still tasted delicious! Last weekend Avery began clapping; I tried to capture it but missed it so the video on our youtube is more of me asking her to do it again... We went to our fav Chinese restaurant, Shanghai Bistro, in Windsor. The waitress couldn't believe it when we ordered Hot and Sour soup for Rachel and then we gave Avery pieces of the tofu; she said "This family like a the spices!" Then she was trying to get Avery to smile at her; even tried to tickle her but Avery is pretty serious so she only smiled for a brief second at Mommy :) Our fortunes were pretty funny for each of us: Adam- 'Everyone has a photographic memory. Some just don't have film.' Renee- 'People are just as happy as they make up their minds to be.' Rachel- 'You grow up the first day you have your first good laugh--at yourself.' Avery- 'Don't panic.' Although I think Adam and I should have switched as my memory is awful :) Rachel is a goofball at times so that one was funny as her laughter at herself is contagious! Avery's was hilarious since she is so serious and solomn, it was perfect! Last night (1/30/13) Rachel helped Daddy change the brake pads in our car while Mommy was putting Avery to sleep for the night :) Rachel came in to show me how dirty her hands were from helping and then went right back out to finish helping! She was so proud to help her Dad! Guess that is it for now! Love you all, happy new year Callas'
